I’m trying to spend a little more time writing than speaking this year, but I do have a few talks coming up in 2016. Hope to see you all in person sometime soon.
February 25, 5:30pm and 7:30pm
Level Ground 2016—Pasadena, California
I’ll be hosting Family Dinner at this awesome festival, which uses the arts to create gracious conversation about the Christian faith, gender, and sexuality. I’ll share stories of LGBTQ people of faith I gathered during my trip to Uganda last summer. And then after dinner, we’ll screen and discuss the film “Stories of Our Lives,” which dramatizes LGBTQ testimonies from Kenya.
Treefort 2016—Boise, Idaho
I’ll be sharing some new stories at Storyfort (Thursday the 24th, 2:30-3:30 p.m.), participating in Hackfort for the third time (Thursday the 24th, 6-7pm, and Friday the 25th, 9:30-10:30am), and moderating a panel at the first-ever Foodfort (Saturday the 26th).
Frederick Buechner Writer’s Workshop, Princeton Theological Seminary—Princeton, New Jersey
I’ll be teaching two seminars, one on fear and empathy in writing and one on telling others’ stories.
June 19 & 26, 10:45 a.m.
Valley Presbyterian Church—Portola Valley, California
I’ll be preaching! For the first time! Yikes! Pray for me!
September 30-October 1
Why Christian? 2016—Chicago, Illinois
It’s not an overstatement to say that Why Christian? 2015 was a life-changer for me. I’m still pondering some of the challenges made by the brilliant speakers last year. Now I get to freak out about being one of the speakers this year.
Hope to see you all soon. Questions? Thoughts? Email me! email@example.com
